Top Girls

mercury-theatre1Directed by Gari Jones
Produced by Mercury Theatre, Colchester
Assistant Director
November 2011

The iconic, and at times very surreal, play about ambition, success and what happens to those who get left behind.

My role included researching economic, domestic and gender politics of the 1980s in contrast with today to present to the cast throughout rehearsals, recording interviews with women in Colchester about their responses to the themes in Top Girls and creating transition montages for the production. I was involved in planning and production meetings and a key communication between creatives throughout rehearsals. This role also included writing blogs for the Mercury’s website throughout rehearsals and giving notes during the run to the cast as required.
