Come and join us in Dundee’s striking new living room that takes open-plan to a whole new level! A three piece suite in the city centre is the scene for this new event that celebrates and commemorates Dundonian cancelled plans.
We’re inviting Dundonian pedestrians to share their about your never-quite-happened plans of 2020 with us to create a brand new show. recollect will transform the stories shared into a reimagining of the unreal, the unexpected and the fantastic. Missed memories will be created anew through this unique creative exchange which culminates in a final medley of quiet introspection and raucous festivity.
This is a facilitated experience which takes place in an on-street living room, designed by Bandwidth, into which participants will be invited to converse creatively with the creative team to discuss the events in their lives altered and cancelled by the pandemic. Together facilitator and participant will exchange stories, and imagine what might have happened – but with a magic realism or allegorical reimagination of what might have happened. We anticipate some of these will be funny, some sad, and all will be welcome and treated with compassion.
We intend for this project to offer space for creative engagement with reflection on and sharing of experiences of the pandemic; how it affected and changed people and plans, and how they feel now. We want it to offer the chance for a reimagining of these stories which places participants in the driving seat of their own experiences and representation in the performance.
