Forelska
Infinitive verb
English translation: to fall in love

A new show for early-teens inspired by the chemistry of falling in love. It is physical, wordless, and experimental brought together by an international collaborative team from Norway, Australia and the UK forĀ Kompani Morell. It is intended for this production to be able to tour internationally. During this period of development, our focus is also on how the Kompani can open it’s devising process to more artists.

We will be exploring how light and body can translate the hormonal signals in the brain as a way to understand why we might be feeling how we do. Forelska is rooted in science and told through a wordless and energetic performance. My role in this collaboration to explore form; how can we bets frame this work? What contexts might it work best in? How important is story? What framework best allows for live creativity?

This is an initial period of R&D supported by the Artist in Residency programme at Seanse Art Centre for one week. This residency is an international and interdisciplinary programme to fully support the work of artists making performance for young audience. This can be any genre; music, dance, theatre, storytelling, or installation.
